Man Charged With Animal Cruelty after Admitting to Shooting a Dog

A Cattaraugus County man has been charged with animal cruelty after admitting to deputies he shot a dog in the Town of South Valley, police say.

24-year-old Deven Dudenhoeffer admitted to the committing the crime back on January 11th around 10:30 p.m.

An investigation into a citizen complaint led to his arrest on Wednesday.

Dudenhoeffer was processed and released, and will appear in South Valley Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
