BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- There are still plenty of shopping days left before the holiday -- that is unless you have to ship your gifts out of town. If that's the case, then time is running out.

The U.S. Postal Service is advising anyone who needs to ship packages before the holiday -- Tuesday is your day.

"You really have until Tuesday for Priority Mail," said USPS Buffalo spokeswoman Karen Mazurkiewicz. "Then Wednesday is the deadline for Express Mail which is our premium service. Again guaranteed to be there by the holidays."

Letters and cards need to go out by Midnight tonight, Monday, if they are going to arrive before Saturday via first class mail.

"Today we anticipate it's going to be about 1.4 million letters and cards so we're talking over triple the volume," Mazurkiewicz said.
