(WKBW release) During construction on the Garrison Road Sanitary Sewer project Monday, damage appears to have been caused to a large diameter gas line by the contractor.

No injuries have been reported.

Canadian Niagara Power has shut off power to the area while repairs are being conducted by Enbridge Gas, who are on-site. Enbridge officials have indicated that the repair will be completed in 6-8 hours at which time the power should be restored to the vicinity and surrounding areas.

Garrison Road has been closed between Pettit and Crescent Road.

Town Hall is operating on standby power, but open for business.

The Council meeting, scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m., will be held in Conference Room #1 at Town Hall.
