The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced that construction work will continue next week on NY Route 33, the Kensington Expressway (NY Route 33) in the city of Buffalo and the town of Cheektowaga.
Lane closures will continue in both directions on the Kensington Expressway between Harlem Road (NY Route 240), and Interstate 90, in the town of Cheektowaga. These lane closures will remain for approximately two weeks.
Lane closures and ramp closures will continue daily on NY Route 33 westbound (inbound) between the Scajaquada Expressway and downtown Buffalo. In addition, NY Route 33 westbound (inbound), between the Scajaquada Expressway and downtown Buffalo, is
scheduled to be closed nightly from approximately 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
Motorists will be directed to follow posted detour routes.
This work is weather sensitive and will be delayed in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to obey the posted speed limit along the detour routes. Motorists are also reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
