Infant Killed in Crash on Route 20

IRVING, NY (WKBW) - A two-vehicle crash in Irving has claimed the life of a 7-month-old infant Tuesday morning.

The crash happened along Route 20 on the Cattaraugus Indian territory just after 9:00 a.m.

According to police, an SUV headed westbound on Southwestern Boulevard crossed over the center line and struck the car carrying the infant, splitting the vehicle in two.

7-month-old Baylee M. Dion was pronounced dead at Lake Shore Hospital and her mother, 31-year-old Denise Hine was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC with serious injuries. She is expected to be okay.

The driver of the SUV, 24-year-old Danielle Kellogg of Brant, was treated and released. She has been charged with DWI and 2nd degree Vehicular Manslaughter.

The crash remains under investigation.
