TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW) - New York State Troopers are investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident on the Niagara Section of the New York State Thruway.

State police said a vehicle driven by 87-year-old Anne M. Mullins, 87, of Tonawanda, drifted from the right lane across the shoulder and ended up striking a guide rail.

Her vehicle continued, striking a second guide rail and finally came to a rest across the driving lane, Troopers said. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Mullins was pronounced dead at the scene.

The I-190 North was shut down for nearly two hours.
