Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - Buffalo firefighters had a busy morning on Thursday.
Two homes went up in flames, leaving a neighborhood near the Peace Bridge full of smoke.
The Red Cross says the two-alarm fire at 325 and 331 Jersey Street displaced 18 adults. 11 of those individuals are working with the Red Cross.
Some of the displaced have special needs.
Red Cross and Crisis Services were brought to the scene.
Buffalo firefighters also deployed a special mass casualty vehicle for the first time.
The blaze began at 2:30 in the morning in a two-and-a-half story structure, spreading to a home next door. It took firefighters nearly two hours to get the fire under control.
No injuries were reported.
A cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
