A former Alden High School social studies teacher pleaded guilty, as charged, to endangering the welfare of a child, after admitting to 'sexting' a 16-year-old student.
46-year-old Gerald Wild of Amherst admitted that between December of 2011 and June of 2012, he sent multiple instant messages to the student containing inappropriate discussion of a sexual nature.
As a condition of his plea, Wild was required by the District Attorney to surrender his teaching certificate to the New York State Education Department.
Wild will be sentenced on March 25th and faces a maximum of 1 year in prison.
