An Olean woman died after being struck by a vehicle on South Union Street Thursday night, police say.
79-year-old Paul Wood was traveling north on South Union Street when he struck 53-year-old Leisa Lentz with his vehicle and failed to stop.
An unidentified witness heard an unknown noise, then noticed Lentz lying on the ground.
Lentz was transported to Olean General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police say there was no alcohol involvement. Wood was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and was released.
