Former Fire Chief Killed in Car Accident

Holland, NY (WKBW) - Sheriff's deputies are investigating a deadly crash that took the life of a former Southern Erie County Fire Chief.

It happened on South Protection Road in the Town of Holland at 10:15 Thursday morning.

89-year-old Max Barron was struck by a car in front of his residence.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, 19-year-old Harley Teluk, was taken to South Buffalo Mercy Hospital to get checked out.

Barron was a well-respected, long-time member of past fire chief of the Holland Volunteer Fire Department.
