BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - At 7 PM tonight, 9th Ward at Babeville, 341 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, The Etchings are having a CD release party to the public. Their new CD is included with the $10 admission.

The Etchings are a four-piece rock band from Buffalo, NY. (The Band Features Two Of Eyewitness News own Mike Randall's Sons Nick & Ben) Their music is a visceral, volcanic smattering of four brains smashing against one another, trying desperately to find a middle ground.

Their music has been heard in basements, attics, porches, mental hospitals, and stages across the Northeast.

In the past year, The Etchings were the winners of Buffalo's biggest battle of the bands and a $5,000 grand prize - Artvoice's B.O.O.M (Battle of Original Music). This contest lasted 6 months, featured almost 100 band submissions, and 32 different bands.

The Etchings then went on to open up for national acts including The Tea Party, Bedouin Soundclash, River City Extension, and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.

The Etchings have performed at some of Western New York's biggest venues, including Thursday At The Square, Mohawk Place, The Tralf, Town Ballroom, Molson Canal Concert Series, Soundlab and Nietzsche's.

In 2010, The Etchings were personally invited by Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls to perform at the Music Is Art Festival, and invited to perform once again for the 2011 festivities.

In the fall of 2011, The Etchings completed renovation and remodeling of their private studio, House Of Logic Audio (located in the heart of Kaisertown), where they recorded their first full-length album.
