ECC’s 118th Law Enforcement Training Academy Class Graduates 41 Members

(WKBW release) Forty-one students — comprised of 13 sworn officers and 28 pre-employment candidates — were honored as part of the Erie Community College Law Enforcement Training Academy’s 118th Basic Course for Police Officers graduating class, at a ceremony held Feb. 3 in the Minnie Gillette Auditorium at the college’s historic downtown campus.
 
The 13 sworn officers represent five agencies from throughout Western New York, including three officers from the Town of Amherst Police Department; one officer from the Town of Lewiston Police Department; one officer from the Town of Niagara Police Department; four officers from the City of Tonawanda Police Department; two officers from the Town of West Seneca Police Department; and one officer from the Village of Depew.
 
In addition, ECC honored a graduate of the New York State Campus Public Safety Officer program, Anthony Gadley. The college honored their first graduate of this newly established program last year.
 
Speakers at graduation included ECC President Jack Quinn; Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz; ECC Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Rick Washousky; Erie County Surrogate Court Judge Barbara Howe; Erie County Sheriff’s Office Chief Scott Joslyn; and Reverend Monsignor James Campbell of St. Joseph’s Cathedral.
