CHEEKTOWAGA, NY (WKBW) A 14-year-old boy faces two felony charges over a tweet he sent Wednesday night.

Police say at 8:45 p.m. they were notified of a threatening tweet regarding Cleveland Hill High School in Cheektowaga.

The tweet, which read "I'm about to bomb Cleve Hill," was traced back to a 14-year-old freshman at the school. Within 3 minutes the tweet was deleted, but police say approximately 100 other students had already seen the message.

Officers performed a search of the student's home and found nothing suspicious. The student admitted to sending the tweet, but said it was "just a joke." He was placed under arrest.

The boy is charged as a juvenile in family court with making a terrorist threat and falsely reporting an incident. Both charges are felonies.

Police believe the threat was meant as a joke, and the student and his mother have cooperated with authorities at the police department and the school.
