BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Buffalo Police, Firefighters & the Underwater Recovery Team responded to the Stevenson Street Bridge in South Buffalo just after 8 a.m. Tuesday after a jogger discovered a body floating in Cazenovia Creek. The gruesome discovery forced the bridge to remain closed for close to an hour as the Buffalo Underwater Recovery Team recovered the body from the water. Detectives say the body is that of an older white male, but officials are still attempting to identify the body.
"It is a standard procedure, when a body is discovered, that Buffalo Homicide Detectives are called in," said Buffalo Police Spokesperson Michael DeGeorge. "At this point, it does not look like foul play was involved."
