Arrest Made in Target Arson
AMHERST, NY (WKBW) Detectives with the Amherst Police Department have arrested William Lattin, 64, in the arson at the Target department store on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst. Detectives say Lattin intentionally set the fire in the men's clothing department Thursday. Police estimate the damage at more than one million dollars. A Target employee told Eyewitness News Friday that damage to merchandise totaled around $250,000. Detectives now say one Target employee suffered minor injuries in the incident. Lattin was arraigned in Amherst Town Court on the charge of second degree arson. He is being held on $50,000 bail. A judge ordered Lattin to undergo forensic testing that could further link him to the fire.
