WOODLAWN, NY (WKBW) - A Hamburg man is facing charges after an accident on Route 5 early Monday morning that sent one woman to the hospital.

Police in Lackawanna say a 48-year-old man was driving westbound on Route 5 in his Jeep towing a boat. He allegedly crossed into the eastbound lane near Lincoln Avenue, hitting a tractor trailer.

A passenger in that jeep, a 41-year-old Buffalo woman, is in serious condition as a result of the crash.

The accident closed a portion of Route 5 for about three hours overnight.
