Peregrine Falcons Call Central Terminal Home

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation announced Wednesday that Peregrine Falcons are nesting for the first time at Buffalo's historic Central Terminal. The nest is home to 5 chicks, and is protected by two adults. Biologists banded the 5 falcon chicks to track and record vital information on the bird's movements and survival in the wild. Other nest locations include: the University at Buffalo South Campus, the Statler Towers, and the Grand Island Bridges. The Buffalo-Niagara area now boasts the largest urban Peregrine Falcon population in Upstate New York.
