BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- Firefighters pulled a woman from a burning Buffalo apartment building early Sunday morning.
All the other residents had made their way out safely by the time firefighters arrived on the scene in Allentown shortly after 4am. But residents were telling firefighters there was still a woman trapped inside on the first floor and a division chief went in and got her. "He found the lady on the floor in the hallway in her apartment. She was badly burned, smoke inhalation, {and} he was able to get her out unassisted," Buffalo Fire Department Division Chief Don McFeely said. "He dragged her out by himself, actually without a mask on too."
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage to the building is estimated at $75,000.
