"She is just abusing them, you know and if it is too much, you got to cut the horses down, don't have as many," said the neighbor.
But the large number of veterinarians and law enforcement on the property did surprise another neighbor.
"I have talked to her here and there throughout the years, always seemed to know what she was doing with horses," said neighbor Steve Eichler.
But someone was not so sure. After the SPCA received a complaint, they got a warrant and went to Emery Road this morning, and found 73 horses in Beth Hoskins' barns. Some reportedly with dirty with unkempt hooves, and very bad living conditions.
"There is feces climbing the walls, feces all over the floors of the stalls, feces in the water dishes, food bowls," said Gina Browning of the SPCA.
There were also 30 cats and five dogs. The horses were removed throughout the day in trailers, taken to an undisclosed location. Hoskins' attorney was on scene.
"She has been very cooperative. That has been confirmed to me by multiple people on the premises, and we are going to continue to cooperate," said Attorney Barry Covert.
"Usually in similar situations it is someone with the best of intentions. Things got out of control and the owner gets in over his or her head," added Browning.
