Brant Elementary, and WT Hoag Elementary school may close in the next two years. The School Board in Lake Shore will vote on that tonight at 7pm at the High School. The superintendent explains this is part of a consolidation plan. The first year Brant Elementary would close, and the second year WT Hoag elementary would as well.
"This has been a very difficult decision, process for the board of education and they are not taking this lightly," said Superintendent Jeffrey Rabey.
He points to declining enrollment. 90 classrooms with students to fill 60 of them, and the economy. They will redistrict the remaining three buildings, and work with all of the families during the transition. The district expects to save 600 thousand dollars the first year, and 950 thousand in the second.
