Ryan Miller brought home the silver, and became a national star. Now one Western New Yorker wants him to get something else, a key to the city.

"Miller has done such a stand up job for Buffalo. Not just for the United States, but Buffalo, and put us on the map internationally, and I thought he deserved some recognition," said Holly Norton.

Also pointing to his charity work, Norton started a Facebook group, called Give Ryan Miller a key to the City of Buffalo. It is now more than 2000 strong. She also created an online petition, that she will take to the mayor. Eyewitness News caught up with the Mayor today, and asked if Miller will get a key.

"It is quite possible. There has been an incredible outpouring of support for Ryan Miller to get a key to the city. He is a tremendous athlete. He is a fine person. He is an extremely active member of the community civically," said Mayor Brown.

Norton says she is hoping for more signatures on the petition. You can click "news links" at wkbw.com to get to the petition, or go to
