TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW)- The future of Tonawanda City School Board Member Elizabeth Olka is unknown as two investigations have been launched into accusations that she harassed a 23-year old female.
The School Board Member was arrested and is facing Stalking and Harassment charges.
Police say she repeatedly emailed the daughter of another School Board Member after being told by officers to stop. The alleged victim initially went to Police complaining that Olka was harassing her through email, text messages, and on the social networking website Facebook. Officers then warned Olka to end all communication but they say more emails were sent to the young woman's account leading to Olka's arrest.
When asked if the messages were "threatening" or "sexual" in nature, police responded, "no". Olka was not available for comment.
The School Board has launched it's own investigation into the accusations and will publicly release the results and decide what action to take when it's complete.
Olka did not show up for Tuesday night's Board Meeting and gave officials no indication as to when she will return. She is also listed as a substitute teacher for the North Tonawanda School District. N.T.
Officials say they are aware of the charges and are also investigating to see what action should be taken.
