Armed Robbery at Pretzel Stand At Walden Galleria

CHEEKTOWAGA, NY ( release / WKBW ) An employee of Auntie Annes Pretzel Shop in the Walden Galleria was robbed this morning as he prepared to open the store for business. The male victim reported to police that at approximately 8:50am he was alone in the store, when an unknown male entered the store - displayed a handgun - and stole an undetermined amount of money from the safe.

The suspect then barricaded the victim in the office where the safe was located.

The victim was eventually able to force the door open after the suspect left the scene. The suspect is described as a white male approximately 20 years of age, 5'9" and approximately 140 pounds.

Police searched the area but could not locate the suspect. After police arrived on the scene, the victim noticed that a pair of pants and a Sidney Crosby #87 Pittsburgh Penquins jersey was missing from a rack in another room of the store.

A suspect was seen in the Union Road / Galleria Drive area, wearing a Sidney Crosby jersey shortly after the incident.
