EAST AURORA, NY ( WKBW ) After Governor Paterson announced one way to cut the New York State Budget was to close the Knox Farm State Park, supporters gathered Sunday to rally to keep it open.

The Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora is one of 40 parks slated to close across the state.

As Adam Francis reports, the Knox Farm State Park holds a special place in the hearts of many in Western New York. The park is named after the prominent Knox family, who rose to prominence in the 1900's with their business ventures, and later as owners of the Buffalo Sabres.

The park was once owned by the Knox Family. Hear what Seymour Knox IV has to say about the plans to close it. Click "Watch The Video."
