BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- Donald Van Every pleaded guilty Friday to Failure to File a Personal Income Tax Return, which is a Misdemeanor offense.

Van Every was a former Buffalo School Board member, a member of the Erie County Democratic Party Executive Committee, and a local political consultant.

Van Every failed to file his New York State personal income tax returns for the years 2000 through 2007. After being contacted by the Tax Department of his failure to file, Mr. Van Every filed the missing returns.

The total tax due exclusive of interest and penalties from that time period totaled over $3,500, which Van Every has paid. He is also working on an arrangement to pay outstanding penalties and interest to the state.

Van Every was given a Conditional Discharge along with a fine of $500 and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.
