History of Abuse Uncovered in North Collins Murder

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- Police have made two arrests in the murder of 23-year-old Laura Cummings.

At a press conference Friday morning, investigators revealed that Cummings suffered through years of unspeakable horrors, allegedly at the hands of her own mother and half-brother. Police also believe that neighbors, relatives and the residents of North Collins are able to shed more light on the case.

Police have arrested 51-year-old Eva Cummings, the mother of the victim, and 31-year-old Luke Cummings, the victim's half-brother.

Police say the mother covered the nose and mouth of her daughter at their North Collins Apartment. She now faces charges of 2nd Degree Murder.

Police also say that the vicitim's brother, Luke Cummings, poured scalding water on his half-sister. He now faces charges of 1st Degree Assault.

Investigators say that they have uncovered a horrific pattern of abuse, and are asking the community for help.
