BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- 28-year-old Marcia Mitchell pleaded guilty to Attempted Assault in the 1st after attempting to suffocate her infant child at Women and Children's Hospital back in May of last year.
Mitchell avoided a trial by accepting the plea, and was recently in the headlines after attempted to commit suicide while in the Erie County Holding Center. Mitchell apparently got hold of a bottle of Aspirin, which she swallowed in a failed attempt on her own life last month
Mitchell will be sentenced on March 11, and faces a mandatory minimum of three and a half years in prison, with a maximum of 15 years.
