Last Dance for the Statler?

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- The New Years Eve 'Ice Ball' may in fact be the last dance for the historic Statler Towers in downtown Buffalo.

A bankruptcy judge approved a motion Monday night allowing for a Statler trustee to begin the process of shutting down the old hotel.

The historic and iconic landmark was auctioned off back in August to the New Buffalo Statler Redevelopment company, who have failed to come up with the money for the site.

Officials believe the building will be completely shut down by late January.
