Local Soldier Dies in Car Crash Overseas

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- A funeral service will be held Tuesday for a Western New York soldier who died in a car crash in Germany.

30-year old John Jay Shepherd Jr. was a graduate of Riverside High School and served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Shepherd's family and friends will remember him at a funeral service at Noon Tuesday being held at St. John the Baptist Church located at Michigan Street and Goodell in Buffalo.

Shepherd leaves behind a wife and son.
