Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -- Fire Investigators believe the fire that trapped six people inside a home on Crossman Avenue in Buffalo this weekend started in the kitchen.

All those inside are alive today thanks in part to the efforts of a 12-year old girl who broke through a second-floor window to escape, drawing the attention of fire crews.

Two younger boys followed the young girls' lead, jumping into the arms of waiting rescue crews. Firefighters later discovered an unconscious man and woman on the first floor, along with a 3-year old in an upstairs bedroom.

The man, woman and the 3-year old child remain in the hospital, and their identities are not being released at this time.
