The suspect in a cold case murder takes a plea in court today. 30-year-old Michael Hesse plead guilty to 1st Degree Manslaughter for the death of 24-year-old Samuel Ciapa back in 2002. Cheektowaga Police tell Eyewitness News it happened back in August of 2002, when Ciapa's body was discovered in a Sloan Reservoir. Autopsy results showed the victim was strangled and stabbed, but the case went cold for 7 long years. Thanks to new information though, police were led to Hesse, who will remain behind bars until his sentencing in February. Police would not elaborate on how the new information led them to Hesse.
