The final mass was celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic church in south Buffalo Saturday afternoon. The parish is merging with St Teresa's parish as part of the diocese's consolidation plan.
"It's a beautiful church and we have great memories, beautiful parishioners, wonderful priests and it is sad," says parishioner Mary Ben, "I went to grammar school here at St. John's. It's nostalgic coming today."
