Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -- A computer glitch in FAA software affected numerous flights around the country earlier Thursday.

The malfunction was with the FAA's automated system that collects flight plans from pilots. The hiccup caused major delays and cancellations in some of the country's airports.

Officials say that the glitch has been resolved, however the delays may take several hours to clear-up.

Officials at the Buffalo-Niagara airport say that the computer problem has had a minimal affect on traffic there.
