Dave Thomas Retiring From Television

Philadelphia, PA (WKBW) -- From 1964 until 1978, Buffalo native Dave Thomas was one of the most popular personalities on WKBW-TV. He hosted the "Rocketship 7" morning program, co-hosted "Dialing For Dollars," hosted "The Money Movie," and was weatherman for "Eyewitness News at Noon."

In 1978, Dave moved to WPVI Channel 6 in Philadelphia. WPVI and WKBW were owned by Capital Cities Communications at the time. There he joined other personal ties who got their start in Buffalo including newsman Jim Gardner and sportscaster, the late Gary Papa.
His first job there was as co-host of "AM/Philadelphia." He later became lead weather caster in 1983 and host of the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Dave was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcast Hall Of Fame in 2001.
His son, Dave Boreanaz ( Boreanaz is Dave's real last name ) was born at Buffalo's Women and Children's Hospital and has gone on to become a famous Hollywood actor in such shows as "Bones" and "Buffy The Vampire Slayer." Dave still has many family and friends in the Western New York area.
