Albany, NY (WKBW) -- Tuition hikes are being proposed for SUNY schools.

State University of New York trustees have approved a 2% increase as part of a budget request that asks for more than $2 billion in taxpayer money.

If lawmakers and the Governor approve the plan, it would be the second consecutive year that a rate increase has been passed on to SUNY students.
