Niagara County Student Death Linked to H1N1

Wheatfield, NY (WKBW) -- The Niagara County Department of Health is confirming that the death of a southern Niagara County resident is linked to the H1N1 virus.

The resident, a tenth grade student at Niagara Wheatfield High School died Monday afternoon. According to the health department, the teenager did not have an underlying medical condition and died due to complications related to the H1N1 influenza.

No other details about the student are being released. This is the second death in Niagara County that has been linked to H1N1since the first outbreak began in April.
