Orchard Park, NY (WKBW) -- The Buffalo Bills sent out an official release just after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, confirming that Dick Jauron has been relieved of duties as Bills head coach.

In the release, Bills owner Ralph Wilson Jr. said, "I am announcing today that I am relieving Dick Jauron from his duties as our head coach, effective immediately. I have tremendous respect for Dick and thank him for all of his efforts during these past four years. While this is a very difficult decision, I felt that it is one that needed to be made at this time for the best interest of our team. We will now focus on moving forward and preparing for our game this week in Jacksonville."

The Bills added that a separate announcement will be coming regarding the naming of an interim head coach, however NFL.com has reported that Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell will become interim coach for the time being.
