A suspect is in custody following a two-hour standoff with Buffalo Police at a home on Ontario Street. Police say that the man, in his late 30's, was armed with a knife and holding his wife and several children against their will. The woman and the children escaped safely.
Police have made an arrest in a car-jacking case, where two female college students were allegedly kidnapped, bound and robbed on Saturday. Police say they arrested a 17-year-old male in Buffalo early this morning who will be charged with kidnapping and robbery. The search for a second suspect is continuing.
Voters in Hamburg will hit the polls today to vote on a downsizing measure that would shrink the Town Board from its current five members down to three. Voters in West Seneca, Evans, Orchard Park and Alden have already voted in favor of a downsizing plan.
