Niagara Falls Police are trying to track down a suspect in a deadly shooting that happened in the city early Saturday morning. Officers say they found 36 year old Jacobi Lovett of Buffalo wounded in front of the Main Street Mini-Mart, in the area of Main Street and Niagara Avenue, but believe he was shot in his vehicle parked down the road from the store. Lovett was taken to the hospital but died soon after. Police think the shooter drove off in the victim's car. The vehicle was found a block away behind a house but the suspect was gone. Police were able to speak briefly with the victim before he died. "He did not identify his assailant, so our investigation is still continuing," Detective Captain Ernest Palmer, NF Police Chief of Detectives, said. "He does have a criminal record and a past involvement with drugs and we are looking into that as a possible motive for the shooting."

Anyone with information on this should call Niagara Falls Police at 286-4711.
