The Affordable Health Care for America Act Heads to the House Floor

WASHINGTON –Congresswoman Louise M. Slaughter, Chairwoman of the House Committee on Rules, will manage debate on the rule for the House health care bill, the Affordable Health Care for America Act. The debate and vote are scheduled for today, with debate beginning this morning.

As Chairwoman of the House Rules Committee, she presided over the final hearing on the Affordable Health Care for America Act which was approved by the Rules Committee after almost 12 hours of testimony last night. The Rules Committee was the last stop for the House health care bill before it proceeds to the House floor for a vote.
