Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -- Here are the top stories from Good Morning Western New York.

Fire crews were called to a vacant house fire at Forest Avenue and Dewitt Street this morning. One firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The cause is still under investigation.

A Grand Island school bus driver is being called a hero after her bus was hit by a car, causing it to smash into a tree. Officials say a sedan ran a red light and hit the bus, causing it to jump a curb and slam head-on into a tree with 22 students on board.

Some Buffalo Common Council members saying that if Ellicott District member Brian Davis does not show up for Tuesday's Council meeting, then he may not get paid.
