Vehicular Assault Case in Court Today

Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -- 30-year old Steven Cavarello of Lackawanna pleaded not guilty this morning in City Court to charges of vehicular assault and driving under the influence of drugs.

Officers say that Cavarello was driving the car that struck 30-year old Sarah Gregory while she attempted to cross South Park Avenue in South Buffalo in September.

Gregory became pinned against a parked car and the vehicle operated by Cavarello, severing her leg.

Cavarello is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
