Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -- Here are the top stories from Good Morning Western New York.

Eleven students are now homeless after a fire tears through a building in Alfred, NY. The building houses two businesses along with apartments on the upper level. Everyone was able to escape safely.

25-year old Darnell Miller is facing 2nd degree murder charges after admitting to beating his 9-month old infant son to death earlier this week.

Cheektowaga Police have placed a 70-year old man behind bars after charging him with sexually assaulting at least three young boys.

The excitement is building as a local family is about to become the focus of an episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. There is a pep rally for volunteers being held this morning at the Rich Renaissance Atrium on Niagara Street in Buffalo.
