Orchard Park, NY (WKBW) -- Some voters waited for over an hour to cast their ballot yesterday as residents of Orchard Park turned out to vote on a government downsizing measure.
With only one polling place open, election officals saw over 3,000 voters turn out to have their voice be heard, and by a resounding 2-1 margin, residents voted in favor of reducing the size of the town board.
The Orchard Park Town Board reduction will go into effect on January 1, 2012, and will take the size of the board from five members down to three.
