Four movies are being filmed in the Buffalo area. Keanu Reeves has been spotted in several places over the past week and a half as he scouted locations for his new movie "Henry's Crime". Denzel Washington has been in town shooting his new movie "Unstoppable". He has been sighted around the Olean area. Production is continuing in Northern Pennsylvania this week. An independent feature film called "Nicholas of Myra" had more shoots at the Albright Knox in Buffalo the past couple days. This movie stars Matthew Mesler who was on the television series Dawson's Creek and is originally from Williamsville. Finally, a Bollywood movie called "After Life" is being filmed in the Buffalo and Niagara Falls areas. It's a romantic musical that will be released internationally. "We had the bike scene where I'm riding the bike and actually this scene is my introduction scene," Anita Galler, the lead actress in "After Life" said. "It's a love story, like a Romeo and Juliet with a little twist, so it's a passionate love story."

"It's about a boy and a girl falling in love and the parents not agreeing with it because they think they are too young to fall in love," AJ Varma Alluri, "After Life" film producer, said. "They are separated, that's when we see how emotionally they are affected by being in love but not being able to see each other or talk to each other."

Hindi Cinema is becoming more popular to create in Western New York with a big spot being Niagara Falls. "We wanted a beautiful setting... the landscape that's gonna enhance the love, something that we want the audience to feel besides the characters," AJ Varma Alluri said. "Niagara Falls is a very popular destination especially for Indians, it's one of the most sought after destinations."

"I was really excited, the Falls were really pretty," Galler said. "We did some shots where we got right under the Falls and that was an experience because we got soaking wet and I was really cold, but it was cool because we got to get up close."

"Our advertising is working, basically telling Hollywood they're welcome in upstate New York particularly Buffalo to shoot their films here," Tim Clark, the Western New York Film Commissioner, said. "We're breaking into the foreign film market and I think the Europeans and Asians and those across the globe are realizing that Buffalo is a very cinematic city."

Production on "Henry's Crime" starring Keanu Reeves starts in November. The film "After Life" is scheduled to be released worldwide in January. The other movie release dates are pending.

It doesn't stop there, a few other big films are in the works to be shot in Buffalo in the very near future.
