Gowanda Flood Update

(Gowanda, NY) -- Gowanda Officals released an update on the flooding conditions and information for residents and those who wish to help.

There is still a boil water advisory in effect for the Village of Gowanda. If residents require aid with pumping basements, they can call (716) 532-3434. The New York State DOT is asking residents clearing mud from their property to place removed mud on the curb and not on the street for ease of pick-up.

The Gowanda Area Flood/Storm Assistance Helpline (for Cattaraugus and Erie County residents) and for donation and victim assistance is (716) 995-2164. The call center is open from 9am-5pm.

Officials are asking for donations of new mops, bleach, fans, brooms and dehumidifier aplliances.

There is also assistance available at the Family Assistance Center at the Gowanda Elementary School located at 450 Aldrich Street in Gowanda.
