It was certainly a windy day today. Several trees fell in Chautauqua County, damaging power lines and in one instance in Cherry Creek, a tree fell on a house and two cars. Here in Erie County, the strength of the wind could be seen on the water.

At Front Park in Buffalo, you could see the waves crashing over the breakwall. Many people were outside today, despite the strong winds. The day started of pretty warm for May but as the afternoon turned into evening, those winds made the temperature drop and fewer people were willing to brave the cold.

"We've been feeling the wind, but actually it doesn't seem extremely cold," said Buffalo resident Charlie Walters.

The temperature actually dropped 20 degrees once that wind came through, from the high temperature we reached at 12 noon today.

The wind advisory was cancelled for tonight, though gusts are expected overnight. And tomorrow for Mother's Day, its still going to be breezy.
