A 6 year old Buffalo boy has died from complications with the influenza virus. He is one of only 7 to die from the illness in New York State this year.
While it is rare to die from the flu, medical experts say it does happen.
6-year old Brazill Bridgers was a first grade student at St. Mark's Elementary school in North Buffalo. Last Thursday he became ill while in class and had been running a fever, he was sent home to the care of his grandmother. She gave him a children's aspirin and put him into his bed, where he was later found dead.
An autopsy revealed he died from the flu.
The community of St. Mark's School plans to dedicate a bookshelf in the school library to Brazill. Those who knew him say he loved to read.
