Orchard Park (WKBW) - Orchard Park police say they are "very confident" they have enough evidence to move forward with 2nd degree murder charges against a local high profile TV network president. 44-year old Muzzammil Hassan is accused of beheading his wife, 37-year old Aassiya Hassan. Aassiya was found murdered in the offices of Bridges T.V. on Friday in Orchard Park shortly after her husband reported her death.
He was then arrested hours later.
The couple created Bridges Television Network which worked to promote positive news about the Muslim community. Police say the couple had a history of trouble. "Our officers have responded to their home in the past for domestic issues" said Orchard Park Police Chief Andrew Benz. Aassiya had filed for divorce on February 6th and later that night filed a restraining order against her husband. One week later, the murder happened. Police are not sure whether Aassiya was killed before she was beheaded.
Muzzammil is scheduled to appear in court for a felony hearing on Wednesday.
