Wind, power lines, and an aluminum awning may be to blame for this mid-morning fire in the city. Fire crews arrived to find fire shooting from the front attic eve of this Cornwall Avenue home. The resident tells Eyewitness News that an aluminum awning was blowing in the wind, hitting the power lines and causing the lines to short out. He believes the sparks were blown onto the roof sparking the fire. Buffalo Fire officials’ say that may be possible, but the fire remains under investigation. There were no injuries; damage is pegged at $50,000.00.
